So much more than a retail store!
Whether you are a seasoned Gift and Thrift supporter or a newcomer, your dedication to our mission and vision is deeply appreciated. Voted Nevada County’s Best Thrift Store, Foothills Gift and Thrift Gift stores are part of the community safety net; more than a retail store means providing affordable goods, volunteer opportunities, transitional return-to-work programs, and on-the-job training.
The funds generated through the thrift stores support programs such as Hospice of the Foothills, Sierra Community Palliative Care, Caregiver Education and Support, Bereavement Services, and more!

A place for the community to give back
Over 100 volunteers, including high school students, seniors, and company-sponsored volunteer programs, proudly volunteer at our thrift stores.
- The Community Partner Voucher Program: We provide vouchers to other community nonprofits to help individuals and families restart their lives with essential clothing, household items, or furniture.
- Transitional return-to-work program: Companies choose us to help employees return to work safely and quickly after an injury or illness.
- On-the-job training: We help youth and young adults gain valuable resume-building work experience.
- Promote sustainability: Secondhand shopping is a way to reduce waste in landfills and neighborhoods.

Our thrift store volunteers help keep customers happy and our stores stocked with desirable merchandise at bargain prices. Volunteer Duties may include:
- Receive donations and sort merchandise
- Operate the cash register
- Assist customers
- Steam clothes
- Tag clothes
- Test electrical equipment
