Make a Lasting Impact

This Giving Tuesday, you have the power to make a difference in the lives of individuals and families facing some of life’s most challenging moments. At Foothills Compassionate Care, we provide compassionate hospice and palliative care, grief support, and caregiver education to our community—all with dignity, respect, and love.

The Fifield Family’s Gift to Future Generations

Nearly 18 years after the passing of his beloved wife, Joan, in 2007, Bill still remembers the extraordinary care she received during her final days. That memory stayed with him, not just as a grieving husband, but as someone who witnessed firsthand the difference compassionate care can make.

A Gift Rooted in Compassion

A letter from Camilla, “On behalf of my wonderful Aunt Mildred D. Rogers and Uncle Joseph William Rogers Jr., I want to express our deepest gratitude for the exceptional work that you all do. Your vision and daily efforts touch so many lives, and it is an honor to present their gift to Foothills Compassionate Care.”

Lucile Templeton’s Transformative Gift

Highly rated, nonprofit Hospice of the Foothills is pleased to announce the receipt of a transformative estate gift generously bequeathed by Templeton Family Trust. This significant contribution underscores the enduring commitment of community members to support our mission of providing compassionate palliative, hospice, and bereavement services to those in need.

Help Us Cross the Finish Line

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we did it—we raised $35,000 to purchase a brand-new delivery truck for our Gift and Thrift stores! This vehicle is more than just a truck. It’s a lifeline that helps us transport donated items, deliver purchases, and keep our stores running—stores that provide a million dollars of the compassionate end-of-life care services we provide to families across Western Nevada County.

Touching Our Community in Unexpected Ways

Sometimes, we meet people who leave a lasting impression on our hearts. Bev Werntz, a board member of Foothills Compassionate Care and a lifelong critical care and hospice nurse, shares the story of one such person—Mary Ann Smith. Bev first met Mary Ann about two years ago at the Grass Valley Gift & Thrift Store, where Mary Ann was a dedicated volunteer.

Janell Jones, Cheerleader in the Corner
